Trust the moment, give in— shaking hands will deceive us skin against skin, the air breathes us, breaths disappear into the void around us the hearth inside us draws a steady hand nearer, lips against palm, let harmony tremble beside us if you feel it— stay in this beauty before us, feels like falling, feels like rising, leave the earth behind us the fires tremble— touch it hold on, my love, don’t let me go, there is more to give than to release us weightless motions, as if gravity belongs to us as I drift away and close my eyes for you— half-wake in a dream, alive, this could… be us
