Word of the Day
19/05/2026
Some people carry their demeanor
like a bin bag with a hole in it,
leaking little scraps of grumble
everywhere they go.
You hear them before you see them,
that sigh shaped like a warning,
that shuffle of impending drizzle
even on a bright day.
Yet sometimes,
if the world catches them sideways,
a laugh escapes
before they can trap it.
And for a moment
their whole demeanor softens,
as if they remember
they weren’t born to be weather.
