My body longs to move as it did, Before the accident, Before the surgery. It ***** the life right out of my bones Starving for strength Wanting to move Heaving myself up in the glare of the sun Only to fade The spark dies, the moon spies and my body lies in wait for another chance at waking it’s chanting cells… Feed me, feed Me, feed me, they repeat over and over… and another day dawns, another chance to greet the sun, to wake the body that once was. One day soon this wrecked cavity I live in will arise once more to play… One day soon.
