Words lay in a heavy pile,
Receipts love cannot reconcile,
Scattered on the floor
So much love we had held before,
Yet somehow we declared a war.
Insults flew like sharpened spears,
Cries for peace that no one hears,
No medic to be found
On this casing littered killing ground,
And still we braced for one more round.
And none of us will win
Just frightened souls accruing sin.
None shall rise or claim a prize;
Only fighters with blackened eyes
And silence closing in.
