A Story

There was a time when my heart pumped

 

and then it was promptly ripped out.

 

I wandered

 

and then picked it up

 

brushed it off

 

and pump

 

it did once again.

 

Again, it was ripped out

 

but by yours truly.

 

I wandered

 

and then picked it up

 

brushed it off

 

and pump

 

it did once again.

 

Once more,

 

it was ripped out.

 

Now I wander

 

scar on top of scar

 

Not yet healed

 

and bleeding just the same.
