Riled up, out of breath Lost patience, afraid Froze to death, tired of waiting Waiting for his own first step That will help close the gap To an answer The question was What's the worth of self-worth If it twists to 'self-worthless'? Hard to dig out this anchor With its deep, old root system That will grow through foundation Leaving sanity homeless Three minutes will pass And storm will be gone Leaving room for a short affirmation: 'I am smiling and standing, Both feet on the ground Eyes wide open And facing the sound'

Ups and Downs
Riled up, out of breath Lost patience, afraid Froze to death, tired of waiting Waiting for his own first step That will help close the gap To an answer The question was What's the worth of self-worth If it twists to 'self-worthless'? Hard to dig out this anchor With its deep, old root system That will grow through foundation Leaving sanity homeless Three minutes will pass And storm will be gone Leaving room for a short affirmation: 'I am smiling and standing, Both feet on the ground Eyes wide open And facing the sound'
