There was once a soul
Nestled amongst petals of gold,
Shielded from insight that brevity couldn’t hold.
It lived in a world
Where every fruit reaped, it had sown.
Imagination was its strongest virtue,
But delusions didn’t stray far.
Beyond the horizons, the darkness crept through,
Covering the whole sky black.
The soul was taken aback
By the rumbling of a thunder clap,
Just as the crown of dawn cracked,
Slowly, driving the darkness away.
The birds all chirped again;
The rays were mixing with the rain;
The petals softly parted ways.
For the rainbow to show its face.
The soul lay there awake,
Wondering, maybe this world that it made
Will end up consuming itself
The day its delusion breaks.
