Past her boiling point
She drew nearer to the ocean
Herself merging with the waves of unconsciousness
Her lungs expanding to greater heights
In deeper places, with new people
And vibrant faces
They speaking a tongue unfamiliar
Her expression twisting with confusion
A swollen, pouted lip pressed on the apple of her cheek
As she held an even tone
Big teeth; served no purpose
For now she was awaited on by a bleak daylight
No longer any rays to smile back
But a distant grasp on the forgotten surface
The only laughter she heard was the shrilling call
Of the current between the lines
Her fingertips bruised by the turning of novel seasons
A rotation grown tired of
Because she, like myself has a tainted heart
Specks of black seep through her lingerie
But the wicked men turn a blind eye
Alas ~ I blinded the other
