The Gift

In giving a gift,

expect nothing in return,

or you place a value upon your own soul.

In giving a gift,

harbor no motive,

or your gift becomes a bribe.

In giving a gift,

give without reason,

or obligations snare is baited.

In giving a gift,

forget you are giving,

or you will not recognize thankfulness.
