Talk

I sit I wait... but for how long?

It just seems like you won’t be there.

A flash of light,

that glimmer of hope.

I look down to see it isn’t you

but someone else.

My smile slowly dies from that brief rush.

The waiting continues but still nothing.

I know you’re busy

It’s perfectly fine.

So suddenly my smile returns

when I almost gave up hope.

We talk for hours but so short it seems

when I sadly have to end it.

I can’t believe my heart skipped a few beats when all we did was

Talk.
