I was in darkness, surrounded by cold wet ground,
I laid there alone, with no one around,
Fear and doubt was all that filled my heart,
The sadness and grief tore me apart.
One day I received a warm kiss,
For the first time I opened my eyes,
Wondering who I had missed,
It was the SUN, asking me to wake up.
I felt the change move through me,
I was no longer, imprisoned in a tiny shell,
I broke free into the world, to be happy,
What I did was look in the right direction.
All this while I was ignorant,
Assuming darkness is the opposite of light,
Now I know darkness is just absence of light,
I let in the light, and realized who I am.
