I stayed longer than I wished, replaying hours in blue shapes, not too good to live quite well, not enough painfully to dismiss. I was afraid to show my strength. Strength draws others to attack. It burns under my soft purple skin, first with doubts, then with dull light. I patched clumsily the snarling holes with my trembling hands and three eyes. I breathed with less oxygen, in a subtle movement, in a kind of dance. It seemed to be okay for a while, until that world pushed me away from my small elliptical path, like a meteor in an ending running descent. I don’t know which stars I pass or what horizon waits ahead, but I hold a pulsing thought like an orange light, that perhaps, completing my way, I won’t burn, landing on my new ground, not helpless, but aware of my own STRENGTH.
