you’re out with your mate’s wife. again. but when i call her out, she is what she is — herself, her husband’s wife and mother to a child. that’s wonderful. good for you. but for me, it’s hurtful. i have a career, in fact, two, a home. the desire to carve a life i was so ready to start living is gone. i’ve rebuilt everything from scratch, with help only from myself. i was the fuel through the pain and heartbreak that kept me going. i was the spark through grief and loss that held me in one. i am the light that dims at times but brightens my world. i love my husband, i do. but when i’m reduced to that word, you erase my identity when i carry so much wonder inside of me. and it hurts. i came first. i was born from fragments that people left behind and waltzed through. i am the potion that simmered for years and became an elixir that mends the wounds others overlooked. so, yes, he is out. not with his mate’s wife but his friend. the one who is everything i’ve just said.

this one is about being reduced to a man's possession, instead of being seen as my own person.
