"We have not inherited the earth from our ancestors, we are borrowing it from our children." - origin unknown When voices of the young Cry in the wilderness For the sake of the wilderness, Do not conspire to silence them! They are emissaries from the future - Destined to inherit the effects of Every wise or foolish choice we make. So, when Greta Thunberg Speaks in warning tones Of a world on fire And dangerous greenhouse gases, Her words reverberate In Stockholm, Glasgow, London Berlin, Madrid, and other Stations of our fragile globe, All the coins jingling in the pockets Of all the oligarchs who shop Our frail world's crust 'til it drops, Cannot mask the costs of greed and denial. So if Greta's shouts for global sanity Gnaw at our collective conscience, Listen up, people! We can only Hide from the truth at our mortal peril.

THE GRETA EFFECT
