Today — I celebrate who I am No matter the colour of hair No matter the colour of eyes or skin No matter the clothes I wear I celebrate where I am today Road taken or left behind I celebrate being lost and then self-found And the thoughts that whirl in my mind I celebrate my walk, my pace That distant finishing line I see And the time it is taking for me to know My dream and my destiny I celebrate all my ties and bonds Some strengthened and some frail The language of hearts - spoken, unspoken Some poetry, some prosaic tale I celebrate my wants, my hopes My failings - and all that I couldn't be I celebrate what I may become tomorrow I celebrate - unapologetically I celebrate my aches, my tears My fears, what judgements...why justify? And grateful for little joys and blessings that I have Today, I celebrate I

All things put aside
