I embrace the coming of age throughout the years
As it features growth, wisdom, and peace
Including mastery of multiple skills
Like art, painting freely with my fingers,
Learning how to be gentle and patient
Whilst tending to a lovable being in my arms
I wouldn't have acquired any of this
If I remained in inertia my entire life
How would my adulthood play out
If I lived in the tale of Peter Pan:
Filled with childlike excitement,
But never with the satisfaction of success?
I view this tired world through the lenses
Of my telescope,
Waiting for the stars
To tell me your personal story
Who is the one reading this poem
And how will they grow into the person
They aspire to be today?

I guess this one is inspired by a grim outlook on things like I never imagined myself being a year away from finishing my degree, returning to old hobbies that brought me joy, and finding happiness I thought I lost long ago during a traumatic childhood. But here I am accomplishing all of those things!!
