Petulant, pencil pushing ***** Snide, sneering, sycophantic snake. One lie. Another. No change, all face. Good faith means nothing in the dismal district. the back of beyond and nowhere. You lied. You knew. You did what you had to. Made sure that you got yours. Kept the pennies rolling. The table came trumps up. Five years. You kept that lie up. Through deaths, through jobs, through pointless days You needled through the hay stack. Stick to strands that suit your lie Evading binds of truth that tie you down. Meeting. Get it open. Let's find some common ground. Silence. You desert me. No more to be around. And one day, Just like memories past You are gone into the wind. Never to be heard from. Nothing more to say. The birds escaped the snake's bite. The cat had them instead.

A poem about a very long and complicated life situation that dragged on far longer than it should have. Changed me as a person.
