Souls Desire

Why does my soul want to write

about sunsets, raindrops, and never ending nights,

Instead I tabulate and contemplate

What life would be like if I chose instead to create.

Rather than count every penny, nickel, and dime

I want to document and write about what has become mine

Life and loves and lessons I have learned

The daily routines and scars I have earned.

My fair share of hurts, I have acquired no doubt

But there is not one I would be without

Because they have made me who I am and what I believe

And without that, I wouldn't be just plain ol me. :)
