Oh to be as free as a leaf in the wind Soaring far beyond the wings of a raging wind Singing wonders among the stars Beckoning the birds Oh to be as free as a leaf in the water Dancing like lovers in a pond beneath the fireflies Sending ripples to the edges of the bank Whispering touches to the fish Oh to be as free as a leaf in the dirt Swirling in dust clouds right over the laboring worm Crumbling like fossil among the grass Mingling with the ants Oh to be as free as a leaf in the fire Burning to ash in a blaze brighter than sun Crackling in a merry song with wood Lingering among breath
