As the expression goes, 'If I look in the mirror' who will I see? Let's take this figuratively, not literally, As literally, I don't much care for the mirror, It's wrinkles I see and a sad slouched face I don't recognise looking back at me, So perhaps the literal and figurative merge, As I should see joy, strength, some wrinkles that only enhance the beauty that is me, Yet beauty I don't feel, I'm not a bad person, not even a selfish one, I don't think, (we're all rather self-absorbed), So why if I look in that cursed mirror do I keep feeling pain, believing failure, and feel so frustrated and disappointed I want to pull that mirror right off the wall and obliterate it! Obliterate me, obliterate the world around me, scream a blood curdling scream that breaks it all into, Nothing. Is there hope on the other side of nothing?
