I flap my wings as I approach the Sun, Still lost in the careless fun, Hopefully enough it'll let me fly Higher into the beautiful sky. Yet your burning flames Attach to my lightweight wings, Fire seeps into my skin, Wounds are deepening underneath. I fly closer to get a taste, Knowing I still chase The burn and sting of your flame — It's frying down my faith. Give me one more chance Before I hit the rocks, One more call home Before my feathers are gone.
