Dark clouds
loom in the sky;
now the sound of thunder
breaks the stillness of the evening air.
A flash of lightning
lights up the dark sky.
A light drizzle at first
and then a heavy downpour.
My heart revels…
at the beautiful sight
of the white rain
outside my window.
And my mouth waters as I see
a large slab of dark chocolate on the table.
Is this not a little unfair
that it should be just sitting there?
So I decide to nibble on it
And marvel at its bitterness.
As I watch the falling rain, I tell myself
I shall eat as long as it continues to rain.
But it rains for a couple of hours
and the chocolate is no longer there.
I now wonder -
why I ate it all without a care!

This is my very own experience one evening a couple of months back.
