Foolish

The air is stale and the sky is empty

The earth is barren and dead

The only thing left is the two lovers

They walk hand in hand

They follow the path that leads to nowhere

The man is loyal, loving, and lost in her eyes

He does not notice the death around them

The empty and pointless path before them

So lost in her eyes, he does not see the wall

The wall ahead is forever tall and forever long

The two could never make it over

He is so lost in her eyes that he does not see the blade

The knife that’s been in her hand all along

The knife that she slowly sinks into his chest

He never leaves her eyes

Through the pain

He never leaves her eyes
