Throughout history, death has worn the mantle of the villain.
And this time, the tale unfolds no differently.
A thief of joy and, in many ways, a breaker of homes.
Sometimes, it arrives with quiet warnings, giving us time to brace for the inevitable. Other times, it strikes without notice… a harsh awakening that reminds us how small we are before its certainty.
No farewell. No apology. Simply GONE!
And though we all know that, “Verily, every soul shall taste death,” I sometimes find myself wishing it would allow the good ones linger a little longer.
Because, in the end, it’s hard not to cast you as the villain when you keep taking those we hold dear, with such unwavering indifference.
