An intense fear of death Yet a burning hatred of life A life of yearning for a lover's breath For which we struggle and writhe An inherent distaste for pain But a cruel need to deal so to others We try to stay calm yet struggle in vain And refuse to rely on our sweet mothers Silence can comfort but also destroy Noise can be a comfort of sorts Life can be full of love and joy And can also be very short
