I can still remember it so vividly Crying Unleashing a small storm That was probably held in to long Rain In my palms And thunder in my arms Shirt collar soaked From the inclement weather Shoulders shifted forward Unable to forced them straight from the weight The preachers words becomes mumbles and background noise Drowned out by sadden thoughts And as I sit in the pew The isolation I felt Didn’t match the full capacity of the church Im not just crying because my cousin died I was engaged in a silent war Longing to be comforted Hoping for a umbrella To shield me from the bad weather TO long I waited With no sign of the thunder clouds fading No one was coming That’s when I died a little to
