Somewhere in the hidden deep where my soul's at rest and I’m fast asleep You come to visit in my dreams Haunting, agonizing me tirelessly Where do you go when you sleep at night? Is she in your arms, are you holding her tight? Like you held me when we were once one It’s a perpetual nightmare to see what you’ve become It nudges and pulls at me while I’m in my dreams I see you, but you always see right past me And when I wake your shadow lurks It follows me closely as I get dressed for work You’re in my rearview mirror when I’m on my way I pray to make it through another day And as I kiss a little boy goodbye I send him off and on his way And as he turns to smile at me and wave goodbye I see pieces of you and I want to cry His eyes, like yours, are intense The love I have for him is immense And for that moment I see your face in his It reminds me that in him you always live Every day I fight this war that lives within Trying to forget you while raising him Since the day you left, not one day less.

You live in him
Somewhere in the hidden deep where my soul's at rest and I’m fast asleep You come to visit in my dreams Haunting, agonizing me tirelessly Where do you go when you sleep at night?
