i think i just
witnessed a seagull
singing in the shower
beneath the runoff
from the drainpipe of
the neighbouring roof
reaching its head
proudly upwards
with warbling beak
opening and closing
as it gave voice to
its ornithic ballad
either that or
it was simply
just another bird
having a drink
from the closest
source of water
available to it
in the hopes of
surviving longer
than its peers
