I can respect your point of view, although I do not agree. connotation of a word is important in poetry and sometimes vulgarity is appropriate in order to express the proper degree of the emotion. Also the way you distinguish greatness from fame is probably impossible to defend. I could easily argue someone who was profane, like Charles Bukowski, not only achieved fame but also greatness. A heartfelt opinion I'm sure, but I would be just as strong minded to say that censorship of emotion or regulation of expression is the biggest threat to poetry and the livelihood of the poet to ever exist.

Thank you for your comments, but I respectfully disagree.&#160;&#160;Vulgarity is "never" a requirement for any particular thought to be conveyed "if" you have a "basic" education in language.&#160;&#160;The use of vulgarity, is a vulgar act.&#160;&#160;If I am ever reading a writing and find the use of vulgarity, then I presume the writer's intellect is limited and rarely if ever finish the writing.&#160;&#160;I am not a person with degrees, nor do I claim any higher ground, I simply want to have a proper use of language in my writing which convey my emotions without use of vulgar terms which I know may offend any reader in a public forum.&#160;&#160; 

Nudity for example, is not in it's self vulgar, if when so, you are in the right place, however if I were to walk around your children or your wife or girlfriend, then would it be censorship for you to object? 
Remember, this is a public forum with people of different backgrounds, beliefs and ages.&#160;&#160;My objection to profanity is in a public forum and remains intact .

I agree there is a time and place for everything, the idea that vulgarity makes someone less of a writer or a thinker in itself to me seems erroneous and your personal preference also has nothing to do with the question of vulgarity in writing. The poet, like any artist should be most concerned with expressing themselves, not pleasing children and the squeamish.

It is obvious that you have a thought process which is shaped by a lack of concern for others, and that you think your right to be vulgar is more about you then it is about your writings.&#160;&#160;Your attitude and argument is without merit.&#160;&#160;If you so desire to be vulgar, then exercise your freedom.&#160;&#160;I do not have to answer to you, nor for you.&#160;&#160;You offered your opinion on my site.&#160;&#160;I gave good reason for self control and asked you a question which you chose to ignore in your response, so if you are bent on your own destruction, then enjoy your trip.&#160;&#160;There will not be anyone there to defend you... "Just you and you alone.". (that is a line from one of my poems). Which you obviously know nothing about.&#160;&#160;It isn't something I made up on my own.&#160;&#160;I had good reason for writing that line, and we both will live it at sometime in the future.&#160;&#160;So... Until you live it... I wish you well, and afterwards too , but your attitude will have to be revised and I cannot do that. 

I hope you live long enough to learn,
