Hush now, my love, close your bright eyes,
the stars are just candles that glow in the sky.
The world may be wide, with roads unknown,
but my heart will be yours — your first, your home.
Come home to me, when the night grows cold,
when the light you carry feels too old.
No matter the storms, no matter the sea,
you will always have a home in me.
Rest now, my child, the dawn will wait,
dreams are the doors that love creates.
If the world grows heavy, if shadows creep,
my arms will be the place you sleep.
Winds may whisper, years may fly,
but love won’t fade, and hearts don’t lie.
Through every mile your soul may roam,
you’ll hear my voice — calling you home.
Come home to me, when your heart needs peace,
when the fight is over, and you seek release.
No matter the storms, no matter the sea…
you will always have a home in me.

I wrote this for my children on nights when the unknown feels too scary.
I want them to know that no matter how far they go, or how long they're away, they'll always have somewhere to come back to.
