By moments, I think Am a free woman indeed. But the truth is I am not. I see, what I see, I breathe, what I breathe I do, and I did But not what I really wanted for me Not truly, indeed. I see what they want me to see I breathe what they want me to breathe I do,   & I do,   & I do & I did, what they want me to do. Emancipation is not truly here Am I a free woman, indeed? I saw, & I did, and I thought, but nothing was true at all. They let me vote, they let me read, they gave me rights, They let me Be.   Isn't that fair enough? Of course not. Rounded world, narrow minds Through votes, and words and deeds and rights Free am not. Emancipation is not enough.
