On a Day of Mourning Md. Anser Ali On such a day, today I stand, Arrived at sorrow’s gate; You have departed, leaving me An orphan in my fate. Your legacy stands lofty high, Engraved in golden line; Through deeds you proved your strength and worth, Among the fulfilled you shine. You took the helm as a beacon bright, A giver, noble and true; In spreading education you led the way, Setting the rhythm and cue. Rabeya Khatun, a noble woman, Known for virtues wide; Not new to the northeast she is— Her fame spreads far and wide.
