It is easy to survive here To trim yourself down To dim your bright blossoms To bow your head for the others So they can shine To lose the wicked thorns as not to threaten him To confine your once sprawling tendrils Into this garden box To force a rich rose into a thin and docile lily No matter the cost To turn away from the sun To lose its nutrition so you can lose your leaves It is easy to lie Until it’s not Until you lack strength enough to blossom But still you are silent Through your starvation you lost your voice Because it is easy to survive here To trim yourself down to fit In our america
