Thoughts before sleep

The rivers endless tether

Tied to the tide

Coming and going

Ebbing and flowing

The shoreline to the sea

The cycle of life

Like rain

Clouds, then rain, then sea

Like moods

Anger, joy and love

Moods flowing

Like blood in veins

Flowing and carrying

Oxygen

The essence of life

Air from the trees

Trees from the seed

The seeds of life

Scattered and sown

Blown then mown

Soldiers in a war

Cut down

Like weeds

A mother's flowers

An enemies weeds

Pestilence of war

Washed upon a shore

Where children swim

And sandcastles falter

Slowly erased

By time and tide

Pulled by the moon

Fated by stars

In a sequin sky

So inconsequential

This life, this dream

This woken moment

Betwixt the night and morn

Twixt Dog and Wolf

Man and beast

Which am I

Which I am

A witch I am?

No, no, no

I am which I am

The thoughts I had whilst very desperate for sleep, confused yet feeling like everything was crystal clear.
