Surrounded by beauty, Still all it is shallow, Illusions of novelty, With an echo that's hallow. The essence of things No longer it matters, So emptiness brings, Sadness and sorrow. For they are all full, With greed in their eyes, Like a caged bull With the prey in his sights. Still chasing that prey, Still thinking it'll last We're breaking the day, Which flies with the dust. Today it is here, Tomorrow it's gone, Leaving all still, With a dull long tone.
