The son peered through my window, Awakening me from slumber Light crept through the blinds And rested upon my eyelids Awake My mind becoming warm Just as light danced around my room A beautiful dance A waltz There wasn't any music And it wasn't needed I sat naked in my bed While the sun tickled my skin Goosebumps Birds called out, mentioning dawn's break I lie poised in a manner as not to reveal myself Why Out of fear to those outside Out of fear to my family Out of fear to my friends Out of fear to nature No Out of fear to myself Fear is unknowing Who am I A boy A man A son A brother A person A soul A body A human Just me Peering through my window
