Sick of pretending
Feigning
Hiding what I'm thinking,
What I'm feeling
Clenching my teeth
To claim otherwise
What a filthy mask!
Turns oxygen to poison
Smothering me
I want to tear it
Rip it to shreds!
A beautiful fantasy
I only put into words
Makes no difference
Since all they want
Is a big toothy smile
That screams "I'm fine"
And if I don't mean it
I fake it!
Fake it till I make it
Or else they reject me
Ignore me
That's how much they care.
