My ghost and I

she whispered secrets by my ear, while I slept and tried to dream

she told me the wonders of the world

and described cities I would never see

through her words – people, things, and feelings showed

any possible nightmares that decided to crop up

would be hushed away under her ghostly touch

and once my body settled into the sheets

the stories would commence

her tales would begin
