As Mother Nature welcomes my father's entire being into the green where he lies down, arms full open, fingers playing with the lawn leaves that reach up to his beard, he willingly surrenders, closing his eyes, smiling. Oh what a big smile. It embraces him with all his wildness, his breeziness and I know, I know that in those exceptional moments he isolates himself from his humanness; human no more he is. I watch him with awe, for I am reminded of his breezy ways, his primal mannerism, all so pure and untainted. It turns out he was always governed by it; the green he lies on, his real owner. Neither my mother, nor I, or anyone else, but the vast green; his sole owner, embracing him, taking him further away from us... In all clarity I see this brother, as I watch my father lying down, breathing heavily. He is leaving us. He is ours no more, never was. I hope he returns to wherever he came from, from whoever or whatever. I hope he never comes back, to where he never belonged. A deep breath he takes, the Green Queen's kiss...
