Tick-Tock Tick-Tock Time is a concept Is it not? Some say time flies For me, It has stood still since he first stole something from me "Matilda, say your prayers" "Matilda, clean your shoes" Oh, yes... My pretty red shoes My Dorothy shoes My ruby slippers Click 1-2-3 "Matilda, don't talk to boys" "Matilda, don't end up like your mother" I never knew my mother or at least I can't remember All I had were the stories my father told How she shared the company of men How she brought shame upon our household How she was banished for her sins Watching the pendulum back and forth back and forth "Matilda, stay still" "Matilda, you deserve this" The clock is my escape I watch in wonder as time slips away Yet I am stuck in that moment Tick-Tock Tick-Tock "Matilda, Matilda?" "Look at me" Today, I will make the pendulum stop Click 1-2-3 My saviour: Father's hunting knife "Matilda... NOOOOO!!" Tick-Tock Tick-Tock There's no place like home My name is Matilda.
