Life gave me sisters
not from my blood,
not from my name,
not from the same mother or father
yet somehow
they run deeper in my veins
than anything written in DNA.
They are my back
when the world turns against me.
They are my people,
my safe place,
my forever home.
They are the reason
a smile finds my face every morning.
The reason I keep going
on days when breathing feels heavy.
They healed the broken little girl
who once lived quietly inside my chest.
They touched the cracks in my heart
and didn’t turn away
they stayed.
They fixed what they didn’t break.
They made me the poet I am today,
turned my pain into ink,
my tears into verses,
my silence into strength.
They gave me new dreams to chase,
new goals to pursue,
new reasons to believe
that I am meant for beautiful things.
They are my blessing in this world.
My luck.
My light.
Not sisters by blood
but sisters by soul.
And I pray
they will always be beside me,
because loving them
is the easiest thing
my heart has ever done. 🤍
