I sit in command, quietly in my chair. The world passes me by in indifference. I do not what I'm told, yet I tell others. Things are not as they seem, I die inside. My romance and passion are kindled. They are kindled by she, she who dreams. Sleep she must for eternal life, sleep. I rule, yet I am ruled by she. Outside, the cold wind scrubs my skin. Outside, I listen and watch to my dismay. My heart leaps out of its chest and pulses. Quietly, in my head it is coming. Silently on the horizon is a sailing ship. It is our ship, our life, our moment of life. It approaches, casually, appropriately. We board, we embrace, we are one. I take her and she takes me. Our destination is one of paradise, infinity. This is life in  essence. I sit in command, quietly in my chair.

Melancholy in Love
