If only it could

Suspend me in black
Drench and entrench me,
I'd never look back
I'd follow the sun,
Drifting silent and still
I'd burn, but I'd learn
What's beyond the hill
Let the shadows embrace me,
Turn me deaf, blind, and dumb
Erase and encase me,
As we become one
