i am forgetful
i fail to remember
what day it is
my studies
my future to-do tasks
i allow my mind to wander
and forget
but the memories
of you
will never evacuate my mind
the way your lip curls up when you smile
or how you turn away when you laugh
i won't forget
the way you look straight into my eyes
when you speak
it's funny how I seem to remember
the significant things
and forget the
unimportant
