Close Enough

Wind through my hair

Waves arguing, their constant shouting in my ear

The sand was wet and thick

Flashing images of small children

Gulls flying high

His arm crept around me

And his warmth passed through me

My head rested on his shoulder

Nothing was said

I had fallen

Fallen hard

I loved the warm feelings

I loved the way he looked at me

His smile so bright

My arms were around him

Pulling him close to me

Never wanting to let go

And my heart melted

Our hands entwined

We stood up

The rest of our lives waiting for us...
