Today was supposed to feel warm. Like flowers on the table, soft kisses, and laughter spilling into midnight. Today was supposed to be our first anniversary. A milestone. Proof that love stayed. Instead, it feels like standing in the ruins of something I was still calling home. I didn’t think I would have to mourn you while you were still alive somewhere in this world. I didn’t think a date that once held so much love would one day feel this heavy in my chest. My heart keeps reaching for memories like they can still pull you back to me. The way we dreamed. The way we planned. The way I truly believed we were going to make it. And maybe that’s the hardest part not just losing you, but losing the future I had already built around us. So today, while the world keeps moving, I grieve the love that almost became a lifetime.
