You ask me to elaborate so I will . The mouth is the gateway for survival . It contains the lips , the tongue , opening to the throat . Vocal cords and an overhang for the nose . Air , nourishment and fluids enter the mouth providing a continuous flow of substance for survival . If the mouth could not close we could not smell . The tongue provides information to warn or to ok passage . The lips are first defense and probes , tools of investigation . The eyes are located close to the mouth and work in unison with each other . 
The kiss is used as a tool to investigate what the eyes have already selected . The lips pick up tiny electrical charges from touching another person . That is why wet kisses work better than dry kisses , electical current flows best when wet . You kiss one's eye lids and you taste the salty skin and your tongue signals all is OK as it should be . You kiss the ears which are super sensitive sending pleasure pulses to the other's brain . Then you kiss all over everywhere providing electrical stimuli , like a light turning a charge on everywhere leaving a tingling and desire for more . The vocal cords provide sounds of assurance , even song and music which do soothe the beast . While tears can be wiped it is much better to kiss to kiss the tears away which provide nourishment to the lips and tongue while comforting the pain or joy that causes them . When one is stressed emotionally they cry . Crying is nature's way to restore the chemical balance of the body which can be changed by stress or emotions . That is why after crying you actually feel better . And by kissing one's tears you are saying you will consume their fears and be stronger for it . Well that is enough for now .
