You can have talent
You can have skill
You can have experience
But if you don't have patience...
...then all the above attributes count for nothing
For if you possess patience
There is virtually nothing that you can't achieve
I'm lost
when I find myself
I'll come back for you
In the former life I led
I had no way of filling
The empty grave of one who's dead
My pride was e'r willing

I had an ego overblown
In pompous boasts exceeding
But I was lost and all alone
My soul was torn and bleeding

I had abilities and then
Became a prideful bearer
Of all the things that I could do
At last I was in error

Even when I knew The Lord
Made charity my pleasure
My works became my righteousness
Above my only Treasure

Christ died in vain upon his cross
If my beliefs adhered to
And I rejected precious Grace
That was the point I came to

How can I live a sinless life?
I am without that merit
Jesus lived that life for me
So Grace I could inherit!

So here I am to tell you all
Pride is like a cancer
I will boast in Jesus Christ

For He's the only answer

*"I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why would I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom."

How Great The Father's Love
This poem's rhythm scheme is based on the hymn "How Great The Father's Love". A fantastic "oldie"!

More and more I've been realizing that I've tried to be my own righteousness. I can't do it. Nobody can. That's why Jesus had to die. To reconcile us with the Father. It takes some gall to think of that I could be better than Jesus! But that's what I was doing trying so hard to be "good".

Please bear with me... I'm not back on the site yet. It's late and I have to go to bed. But I will try to be on tomorrow, God willing. Love you all!
Even in our dreams, but nowhere else,
imagine that my love

We seem to have landed on cloud nine:
Somehow we awoke in goose down feathers
Our sweaty bodies were drape
with 1000 thread Egyptian cotton sheet
Our ******* wasn’t unique,
our passion came off like a dangerous religion
Sneaky, sneaky, but always ostentatious to the facts like
Ripley's Believe It or Not

A New beginning, a new chapter a new natural high
What is love? We must never mistake it for ****** favors
*** we see it, we hear about it we discuss it behind closed doors
Give us your blessing, blessed our puppy love
Moreover please forgive or transgression.
A New beginning, a new chapter...a natural high
~~~
transgression, chapter, ***, puppy love,
The hours disappear instantly like blown out
flames off weary candles.
But time is no match for such raging hearts.
We would still hold up the receding
indigo ceiling above us.
We would prop up the sullen moon to stave
off the dawning day.
We will clutch the dwindling stars
and hug them close to our chests.
Because we know the words too well.
Words we simply couldn't cage except to say that...
We are not yet ready to leave
but we look forward to
diving headlong into
the inevitable restart.
Just so the day could grant us a
slate brand new.
Just so that come night,
we could begin all over again.
While sleeping in my bed
Rhymes escape my head.
I maunder them around
Then write them down
And publish them instead.
That is, those worth keeping
That I write while sleeping
That often turn out to be
Happily approved by me.
A poetic parrot peeping.
An internal rhyming thing.
Almost an eternal ping
That runs through my brain
There to sometimes remain
And bubble back upon rising.
Sometimes it wakes me up
And I brew myself a quick cup
Because at that time
In search of a rhyme
That goes with boxer pup or buttercup.
I haven’t made a dime from this
My middle-of-the-night muse’s kiss.
I just gleefully scribble
And sometimes I giggle
No matter it’s a hit or a miss.
Far be it from me to complain.
For so many poems remain
That turn out terrific
That I’m labelled prolific.
Either that, or poetically insane.
What you love is not important
I'm sure I'll support it.
If it's a dream that's distorted
I'll push your back and say ' go for it',
if what you love is another person
Even when your plans been thwarted
I will tell you now, I'll stand by you.
So remember this-
If I love you-
And if you love someone else-
I'll push and nudge-
Till that someone else-
Learns to love you-
The way I did too.
Every bell tolls for a reason-
Every heart beats with a season.
She's a very honest soul,
A brave soul without care.
She will tell you of her day
so listen to the words
she speaks.
She will hide things,
But she will tell you
When you feel like
Listening.
She won't ever force
You to say anything
Or ever force you
To do anything
For her.
She's beautiful,
Smart, creative
and definitely
caring.
She's able to bring up
any topic to talk about
so awkward silences
are non existent with her.
When you look into her eyes
If you haven't fallen in love
You definitely will.
There's a shine that
is indescribable.
The moon light can't compare
To the shine that glimmers
in her eyes.
If you can make her look
at you with that shine,
consider yourself a lucky man.
You will never find an angel
Who will be able to care
While at the same time
Make you laugh without a care.
Cherish her every second
Cherish her every moment
Because you have won the lottery,
Love her with all your heart
and make her happy.
If I could pick someone to be
With right this moment,
I would pick her.
So you should realise
Just how lucky you are.
You definitely do not
want to lose her.
Watch as the sun rises and sets
And you'll realise,
Her beauty is way beyond
Any of that.
Make her happy for me,
I just want you to make
her smile.
                 Love her
Like I never had
                 The chance
to.
