What We Carry
The week opens on a day for the dead. We listen for the ones who are gone, and notice what we are still walking around with: their phrases, their gestures, the unfinished sentence.
For weeks now, driving, or dropping a bag of groceries in the street, the bag breaking, I've been thinking: This is what the living do.
