We ask our lord today
“We ask our lord today”
To forgive those we lost
“To forgive those we lost”

Why? Why ask forgiveness
For those who sought to destroy
Render our world fictitious
Burned our world like Troy

They promised us utopia
Left us with dystopia
Burning rage sparks our collective will
Render unto the gallant dead
They merrily rushed to the battlefield

We ask our lord today
“We ask our lord today”
To forgive the sins of the unborn
“To forgive the sins of the unborn”

Help! Help those in need
Will our children see the deed?
Passed on to us by virtue
Now we pass it on to you

Bone heaps and dallied dead
Fragrance spoilt roses
Left for a faceless grave
Dystopian hellscape

We ask our lord today
“We ask our lord today”
To guide our hands from strife
“To guide our hands from strife”
Prevent us from repeating
What our ancestors failed preventing

Over the hilltops of yore
Dressed in French lilies
There rests a knight of days of wore
A knight that can rival Achilles

Once called the Blue Knight
Clad in fine plate armour
Shattered enemies in the night
And saved every farmer

Solid in battle was he
Inspired every man to fight
And feared none did he
Even those who would blight

But ran through a jousting lance
Now revered as a hero in France

“Ill will bides me to write this
But know your heart’s bliss”

Relaxed I lay, Read these lines
At once, I am reminded of you
My love, dancing in the pines

I remember you, gallant in blue
As we departed, it left a sour note
But when you returned, my heart flew

We tell the stories and quote
One another, as we raise our glass
“Here’s to everlasting friendship”, we vote

I have travelled the darkest pits of hell en masse
You tasted heaven’s sweet fruits.
And grew in demeanour and class

Traveled we have, faced vast brutes
And here we are again
In the same spot that we met to boot

I stare into your eyes, erased all my pain
I see a mirror to my soul
Blackened and vain

Free, I am from my Sole
Purpose in your arm
Let us embark on a stroll

Know my love, for all your charm
I am yours, until the final knell
I am there lest no harm

As we gaze, I have fallen to your spell
Life is worthless until I spend it in comforting hands
Without you, life is a living hell

Then I awake, disturbed from my plans
Shattered, I realize, how I miss thee
I have lost you to the sands,
The cruel sands of time

— The End —
